Welcome to Science Scholars Academy (SSA). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the SSA website (studywithssa.com), web application (app.studywithssa.com), and our iOS and Android mobile applications (collectively, the “Platform”).
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.
1. Account Registration and Security
To access courses, PDF resources, and video lectures on SSA, you must register for an account.
- Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You may not share your account details with third parties or allow others to access premium content through your account.
- Data Handling: User authentication and profile data are securely managed. By registering, you consent to our collection and use of your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Uganda Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
2. Digital Purchases and Payments
SSA offers premium educational courses and materials for purchase.
- Payment Methods: We accept payments through approved third-party processors, which may include local Mobile Money networks (MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money) and standard credit/debit cards.
- Digital Goods: Because SSA provides immediate access to digital content (videos, interactive math modules, and PDFs), all sales are considered final. Refunds are only granted at the sole discretion of SSA administration in cases of proven technical failure.
- Receipts: Upon successful payment, a digital receipt and transaction memo will be generated and accessible within your student dashboard.
3. Intellectual Property and Content Ownership
All content provided on the SSA Platform—including but not limited to video lectures, PDF notes, LaTeX-rendered mathematical formulas, text, graphics, and software code—is the exclusive intellectual property of Science Scholars Academy.
- Limited License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and view the content for your personal, non-commercial, educational use.
- Prohibited Actions: You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, display, perform, modify, create derivative works, transmit, or in any way exploit any part of the Platform content without explicit written consent from SSA.
4. Offline Access and Download Policy
The SSA mobile applications (iOS and Android) include a feature allowing students to download video lectures and PDF documents for offline study.
- Personal Use Only: Downloaded materials are encrypted and stored locally on your device strictly for personal use within the SSA app when you lack internet connectivity.
- No Extraction: Attempting to extract, screen-record, bypass secure file delivery (Cloudflare R2/AWS S3), or export downloaded videos and PDFs to share on external platforms (e.g., WhatsApp, Telegram, YouTube) is a direct violation of these Terms and the Uganda Computer Misuse Act. Such actions will result in immediate account termination and potential legal action.
5. Acceptable Use and Academic Integrity
SSA is dedicated to fostering a supportive and honest learning environment. You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to hack, disrupt, or compromise the security of the Platform or its servers.
- Share proprietary course materials or answers in a manner that constitutes academic dishonesty.
- Use the platform’s memo or sharing features to transmit offensive, harmful, or inappropriate content.
6. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers
- Educational Purpose: SSA provides supplementary educational resources. While our materials are designed to help you succeed (e.g., in UCE or UACE examinations), we do not guarantee specific academic results, grades, or university admissions.
- Platform Availability: We strive for 100% uptime, but the Platform is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. We are not liable for temporary service interruptions, internet service provider failures, or data loss.
7. Account Termination
SSA administration reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time, without prior notice, if we suspect a violation of these Terms, including but not limited to unauthorized sharing of content or account credentials.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via a memo within the app or by updating the date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of those changes.
